Our first feeding of the Children in La Lanza

"But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God."  Matthew 18:16

Here are a few pictures of our first feeding of the children in La Lanza.  It was an honor and true blessing to be able to give these kids a meal.  Thank you to all of the people who put there time and money into this project.  Lord willing, we will be trying to feed these kids once a week.  We are starting off with one day a week and hopefully we will be able to do more days a week in the future.

One of the first ones to arrive for the food.

Our church pews that double as picnic benches.  The backs flip up to form the tables.

Happy face!

Sister Jennifer holding a newborn baby.

The children with the larger stomachs usually means they have worms.

Most of the Haitian little girls wore a little dress.

A little baby eating next to her mother.

The church that Brother Darren built back in the early 90's.  This is where we hold our services and also used to feed the children.

We were also able to offer the food to the elderly, mothers nursing and some men of the church.

Little Bethany Truel with some of the other kids.

We were able to feed them some beans and rice with a piece of bread and vanilla wafer along with a cup of kool-aid.

A little girl started to follow me around because she wanted to see the pictures I was taking on my camera.  She became my little pal!

The ladies feeding the children in a Batey.

We had enough food left over to visit this Batey on our way home.

Sister Truel handing out some clothing.

On the way back down the mountain a rag got stuck in the chain of the bike.  Thank the Lord no one got hurt.

We were able to feed over 110 people on this trip.  We plan on purchasing the needed equipment this week.  This last week we had to cook the food over a fire, but there is a propane system that you can buy which will make this process a lot easier and quicker.  Please pray that all of this will work out.  The plan is to try and feed these kids every Wednesday.  We would like to eventually add more days to this plan.  From what I have gathered these children only receive one meal a day and that is in the evening time when their parents come back from working all day.  There have been numerous times, when Brother Darren and I have been traveling around, when we have seen little kids left alone with no supervision.  They will leave one and two year olds with their older brothers and sisters to watch.  The crazy thing is that the older brothers and sisters are sometimes only 6 or 7 years old.  Please pray that we will be lead of the Lord in what he would have us to do in this area.
Thanks you again, a million times over, to all who have given of there time, money, and prayers to this work.  The devil will do all that he can to destroy or stop what is going on, pray that we will stay faithful to the fight!

Love and miss you all,
Brother Chris
