12 Thoughts From The King James Bible 1611

#1.  Do we desire the tree of life or the tree of the knowledge of good and evil? Do you desire the Lord Jesus Christ and his holy word, or the world with all of its wisdom and pride?  Genesis 2:9-18

#2.  From the beginning there has been a division between light and darkness.  The things of God and the things of this world.  Genesis 1:4,6,7,14,18

#3.  We as priests of God are clothed with righteousness and salvation through and in the Lord Jesus Christ.  Psalm 132:9,16; 1 Peter 2:5-9

#4.  Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.  Psalm 133:1

#5.  A man shall cleave to his wife; and they shall be one flesh.  (Not a man with a man, or a woman with a woman!).  Genesis 2:24

#6.  God made man in his image.  Genesis 1:26-27

#7.  The Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul.  Genesis 2:7

#8.  Boast not of tomorrow, for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.  Proverbs 27:1

#9.  Open rebuke is better than secret love.  Proverbs 27:5

#10.  Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are decitful.  Proverbs 27:6

#11.  To the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.  Proverbs 27:7

#12.  The eyes of man are never satisfied.  Proverbs 27:20

Bee Smarts

BEE SMARTS (Friday Church News Notes, March 2, 2012, www.wayoflife.org, fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143)

The following is from Creation Moments, August 3, 2011, www.creationmoments.com: “Before we had detailed knowledge of the daily lives of many animals, it was easy for scientists to dismiss signs of animal intelligence as instinct. After all, to the evolutionist, intelligence can only evolve in the highest creatures--like humans. In the last couple of decades, animal intelligence has become a busy field of study. Researchers are learning that animals can be just as intelligent as humans in their own area of specialization In one experiment, researchers moved a supply of sugar water 25 percent further away from a beehive each day. The bees quickly figured out what was going on and started anticipating where the sugar water would be the next day. In another experiment, researchers placed sugar water on a boat that was anchored in the middle of a small lake. When scouts returned to the hive to report their find, other bees refused to go with them, knowing that bees don't find food in the middle of a lake. Scientists have concluded that bees think events through to see if they make sense Creationists know that intelligence did not evolve. It is a gift of the Creator who generously shared what was needed with each creature He created. We also know that intelligence is not what separates us from the animals. Only humans were made for an ongoing, intimate relationship with the Creator. That also means that each of us is responsible before our Maker. God has wisdom, not just intelligence, and He wants to share the wisdom of His forgiving love through Jesus Christ with us!”

What Our Schools Are Forbidden To Teach...

The following is taken from a tract "What Our Schools Are Forbidden To Teach Is Destroying Us!"

Nicholas Murray Butler, 1862-1947, American president of Columbia University

"....In this day and generation we are beginning to forget the place which religious (Bible) instruction must occupy in education if that education is to be truly sound and liberal.  We seem to forget that until some two hundred years ago religious instruction everywhere dominated education: religion guided education, shaped education, and selected the material for education in every part of the world-in the Orient, in Europe and in the Americas....Then particularly in this democracy of ours, a curious tendency grew up to exclude religious (Bible) teaching altogether from education on the ground that such teaching was in conflict with our fundamental doctrine of separation of Church and State...The result was to give paganism new importance and new influence...."

Vatican Calls For World Economic System

Ephesians 5:14-17 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

VATICAN CALLS FOR WORLD ECONOMIC SYSTEM

(Friday Church News Notes, November 4, 2011, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - The following is excerpted from “Vatican wants reform of world financial system,” AP, Oct. 24, 2011: “The Vatican called Monday for radical reform of the world’s financial systems, including the creation of a global political authority to manage the economy. A proposal by the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace calls for a new world economic order based on ethics and the ‘achievement of a universal common good.’ It follows Pope Benedict XVI’s 2009 economic encyclical that denounced a profit-at-all-cost mentality as responsible for the global financial meltdown. The proposal acknowledges, however, that a ‘long road still needs to be traveled before arriving at the creation of a public authority with universal jurisdiction’ and suggests the reform process begin with the United Nations as a point of reference.”

Quick Prayerism

I read this article from Brother Cloud this morning and thought that I would post it on my blog.  I believe way to many churches and christians have gone this route and have damned many souls.  This verse comes to my mind when I think of this quick prayerism movement:

Matthew 23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

BEWARE OF QUICK PRAYERISM (Friday Church News Notes, October 28, 2011, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - Quick Prayerism is an evangelistic methodology that is quick to get people to pray a sinner’s prayer after a shallow gospel presentation which typically does not include any hint of the necessity of repentance. It is quick to pronounce the people saved and give them “assurance” and to try to baptize them even if they barely show an interest in the presentation and even if they give no biblical evidence of having been born again. Frequently, Quick Prayerism incorporates psychological salesmanship manipulation. In Quick Prayerism, an empty “sinner’s prayer” has too often replaced Holy Spirit conviction and miraculous regeneration. Quick Prayerism is characterized by soul winning reports that are grossly exaggerated, since the number of real conversions are minute compared to the overall statistics. We call it “prayerism” because it focuses on a prayer. We call it “quick prayerism” because it specializes in quick presentations and quick decisions and an overall shallowness of spiritual and biblical depth. An example of this was communicated to me some time back by a friend who had the following experience at a prominent independent Baptist church which operates a large Bible college. The soul winner in question is a veteran Independent Baptist missionary to Japan, a man with considerable influence in the Independent Baptist movement. “We went out with their staff on Saturday morning for soul winning. We were immediately partnered up with some of the veterans. The first door we went to, we spoke to a friendly Catholic guy and to my surprise, the guy got ‘saved’ before my very eyes as ------- took him from a few scripture passages to the sinner’s prayer so smoothly that I was caught off guard. I caught myself and while ------- was recording this man’s contact details and writing it down, I asked the man whether (1) he believed that he was a good person and (2) that it is possible to go to Heaven by being a good person. This man who had just got ‘saved’ told me ‘YES.’ I looked around and the other two men beside me said nothing and did nothing. We went to a few more places and eventually reached a home with a Roman Catholic young lady who came to the door. She said she was a professing Christian. Even though she said that all churches were the same ------- gave her assurance of salvation by quoting 1 John 5:13.” The churches that have adopted this unscriptural method of evangelism have produced millions of false professions throughout the world and have given a false hope to this multitude. There are many churches that can show only a handful of new creatures in Christ for every hundred converts they claim. Repentance and soul winning methodology are not minor issues that can be treated as “non-essentials.” Quick Prayerism is death in the pot for any church that practices it.

Do We Stand In Awe?

Princes have persecuted me without a cause: but my heart standeth in awe of thy word. Psalms 119:161

Do we stand in awe of God's word?  Or do we just take it for granted and fail to do what the Lord has written?

AWE, v.t. To strike with fear and reverence; to influence by fear, terror or respect; as, his majesty awed them into silence.

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. James 1:22
