El Higuero Feeding...

I have been very busy down here of late and it seems when I have a free moment to do a post on my blog the internet does not want to cooperate.  There have also been some problems with blogspot lately.  So hopefully today I will be able to get this post on the blog.

This past Saturday we were able to fed some children in El Higuero.  The teenagers from the church wanted to help with getting the food together and distributing it to the children.  It was a blessing to see the young people wanting to help out.  Below I have some pictures from the feeding.  The Lord also allowed Brother Darren to preach while we were handing out the food.  So it is a blessing to be able to give physically and also put forth the word of God!  Please pray that those who are lost would see their spiritual need.

Revelation 7:17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
Have you eaten from the bread of God?  Has your hunger and thirst been satisfied?  Are you looking to the things of this world to bring contentment?

John 6:33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

John 6:34 Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.

John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

May we all have a desire to draw close to the Lord in truth!  Many down here claim to know God, but don't know Him in truth, nor are they serving him in truth.  How many "Christians" serve God the way they see fit and not according to His word.  I'm thankful that the Lord has given us His perfect word in the King James Bible and that He loves us with an everlasting love!

John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
1 John 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

We stopped at this home on the way to El Higuero.  The ranchers hire Haitians to take care of their cattle.  This is one of the homes the Haitians live in.  There is no electricity nor is there any running water.  May we be thankful for all of the many blessings the Lord has bestowed upon America!

Brother Moises brought his truck along to help out.  The teenagers rode along in the back.  This is a picture of us unloading.

I thought this was a good picture to show how the people are bound by sin.  It is only by the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ that they can be made free.
Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Well this is all of the pictures I have for now.  Hopefully, tomorrow I will be able to post "This week in pictures."  This post has taken me about 6 hours to get all of the pictures up.  So pray that the connection will be good tomorrow.

Miss you all and thank you for your prayers and support!

Feeding Project Before Sunday Services in La Lanza

Psalms 72:4 says:
He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.

I'm thankful to the Lord for allowing us to be able to help some of those who are in need.  Today we were able to feed some children and adults before our afternoon service in La Lanza.  This time, instead of the people coming to the church, we took the truck with the food to them.  We were able to go to four bateys and feed some kids that were on the roadsides along the way.  Please continue to pray for the services there that the Lord will deal with the people about salvation and that he would help those who are his to live for him.  Below are a few pictures that I was able to take along the way.  Hope you all enjoy them!

Also, I have something I need you all to pray about.  I have a project that I would like to do, but I need someone in the states to help out.  The project is that I would like to start up some baseball teams in the area in which we live. The last shipment we received from MFI, someone shipped us a box full of baseballs.  We went out into the local area and handed them out to the young boys.  They were so excited to receive the baseballs! I already have a man in the church down here who is willing to help and it has been on his heart to start something like this for the children.  What I need is someone in the states who would be willing to contact some suppliers in the U.S. to see if they would be willing to help out with equipment and uniforms.  Please pray and see if the Lord lays this upon your heart.  Getting this up and running would be a great thing for the children in this area.  Most of them spend most of their days just wandering around on the streets.  Idle time here is a big problem here!   If we could start this up it will give some of these kids something to do and be a part of, plus it is a great opportunity to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to them.  Please pray as we try to get this going!  If you would like to help, just send me an email and I will tell you what I need done.

This is a altar that they have made to one of the Catholic saints.  They will  put candles in it during special holidays.  I think this is also a place where some of them come to pray.

Levi was our cookie man.  We put a few cookies in each of the plates for the children.

Another place where we stopped to hand out food.

Getting ready to head down the opposite side of the mountain to another batey.

On our way down the mountain, we ran across some who were walking up to the church for services.  This is about a 3 to 4 mile walk uphill.

Some more of the kids who were walking to church.

If I made this picture larger (click on it), you would see a earring on the side of this chickens head.  Don't ask me why they put it there.  My guess is that it has something to do with cock fighting.  I believe every Friday and Saturday night they have cock fights.

This is my buddy Wilson.  My wife tried to get a good picture of him and myself, but he wasn't too happy after services.
Well, it's time for bed!  Hope and pray you all have a wonderful week.  Keep in the fight!

Our second feeding in La Lanza and some other Bateys

Yesterday, the Lord allowed us to feed some more children and adults.  First we went up to La Lanza, where we were able to feed around 60 children and women.  Then we went to the Batey that we visited last week and feed close to 20 men, women and children.  Lastly, on our way home we stopped by a Batey that is near the Truel's house.  There we feed another 20 men, women and children.  I thank the Lord that he has allowed us to help these people with food.

Food is not the only need though, while helping to feed these people physically, there is still a greater need spiritually.  Many are content to receive the physical bread, but hesitate or even turn from the spiritual bread found in God's word.  I'm reminded of the scripture in John 6:26 "Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled."  Please pray that the Lord will give an open door spiritually to these people.  The devil has blinded their eyes and it is only by the word and Word of God that they can be opened to the truth.  "In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them." 2 Corinthians 4:4

I realized more than ever yesterday, that I need to spend more time in prayer and in God's word.  This place, just like others in the world, is the devils stronghold and he desires that none should be taken from or out of his dark kingdom.  "And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting." Mark 9:29.  Again, please pray with us that we would have wisdom, understanding, and the knowledge that comes from God when it comes to doing His work here in the Dominican Republic and any work the Lord may allow us to do in Haiti in the future.

If any of you have a specific prayer request or would like us to pray for you, please let us know and I will do my best to pray for you, as you have prayed for us.  Thank you again, for helping us and supporting us as we try to be a help and bring the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ to the men, women and children of the Dominican Republic and Haiti.

Below are a few pictures from yesterday:
